(Credit goes to Evanescence for discovering the glitch, and me for finding the procedure)
(Note, you will need an AR to do this, and you need to know how to use it)
So... I'm sure I'm not the only one who has wished time and time again that you could somersault/spindash chao on the Gamecube, am I? Well, now you can! Just follow the below steps:
1. Turn on your AR as usual, select SA2B, and make sure all codes are turned off.
2. You need atleast one of the following codes (best to have them in the order I list them as it might make a difference): An Always Character code, the Test Level code, and the Chao Garden code. If you lack any of those, get them at The SA2 Page on Sonic CulT.
3. Turn the codes on in the following order: Chao Garden, Always Character, Test Level. Yes, I know this produces a conflict; it's seemingly the only way to do it. Also I do NOT reccomend using Tails or Eggman, the result is extremely weird... use the mechless versions.
4. Start SA2B and pick a stage. Any stage at all, it doesn't matter. When the load screen is about 1/2 way through, start holding UP on the D-PAD (D-pad as in the one below the control stick). Despite what the screen says, you should end up at the Chao Lobby. If you do not, then try again. Now run into the chao garden and attempt to attack (make sure there's no action window). If it doesn't work, exit the level and try again. You may have started holding up prematurely; it's not hard to do that. If it does work, then congrats; you've successfully done the glitch!
5. This will work EVERY SINGLE TIME if done right. If it doesn't, you must have done something wrong. Also, some notes: Although the pause menu does now have a restart option, do not attempt to use it; the screen will fade out and the game will freeze. Also, when you enter the Chao Kindergarten, the camera ends up OUTSIDE; you'll have to move it in. Even then, it'll be at the wrong angle.
So there you go! Try it; it is so fun! I also have a video of this which can be found here!
